January: Ritual

Featuring soft musk, palo santo, earthy sage, and warm amber, January’s Ritual scent could have represented quite a few different feelings you might have had as 2024 got underway. Approaching the new year with a reserved sense of excitement taps into the soft musk and sage that comprise this scent. However, the intrigue of palo alto could have hinted at the challenges and triumphs yet to unfold.

February: Sandalwood Vanilla

Valentine’s Day wasn’t the only sweet thing about February 2024. Drift’s Sandalwood Vanilla combined sugar, spice, and everything nice to create a decadent blend of bourbon vanilla, toasted almond, silky musk, and sandalwood. This old Drift car freshener scent represented everything pleasant about romance and love.

March: Big Sur

Certain parts of the country may still have been fighting snow storms as March rolls around, but for those along the West Coast, Big Sur beckoned. We infused California cedar with bergamot, sea salt, and ocean mist to recreate the feeling of waves crashing on the beach. Now, at the height of winter, surfing those same waves feels more like a vacation with every falling snowflake.

April: Peach Tree

April kicked off our infatuation with fruit throughout the summer months. Fresh peach, mandarin, and apricot make for a healthy breakfast or afternoon snack, but they were also central to our April Scent of the Month. Mahogany wood brought them all together for a tantalizing scent you just had to experience.

May: Zest

Adding citrus to the mix, May’s Zest Scent of the Month featured sugared grapefruit, blood orange, sparkling mandarin, and vanilla musk. The rich orange-y scent matched our eagerness for longer summer days and cool nights spent enjoying the best of life. The tang of citrus hinted at the golden sun rays just over the horizon.

June: Surfrider

Salted cucumber, marine accord, waterlily, and driftwood brought us back oceanside in June with Surfrider. Our fascination with the ocean mirrors the many forms of life that flourish during the summer months, whether they live beneath the water line or above it. What summer adventures does Surfrider make you recall?

July: Summer Spritz

As refreshing as a colorful cocktail sold at the beach bar, Summer Spritz tingled our senses and made us want to run headlong toward the nearest adventure. Wild strawberry, pineapple juice, prosecco, and lemon zest may sound like a thirst-quenching fruity drink, but they’re also the makings of our July Scent of the Month.

August: Bungalow

Andre Drummond joined us for an unforgettable collaboration in August, bestowing us with his vision of a thrill-filled summer that made us yearn for a cozy cabana. Island coconut, palm leaves, and tonka bean comprised this memorable scent that transported us to a ritzy island resort. We cannot thank Andre enough for his contribution to the best old Drift car fresheners of the year.

September: Apple Orchard

Autumn leaves, birchwood, cinnamon, and crisp apple made the September Scent of the Month feel like a day at the farm. Picking ripe apples from the trees almost always ends in biting into a plump fruit to experience its crisp juiciness first-hand. As the harvest begins, the world starts to prepare for the coming months.

October: White Pumpkin

There wasn’t anything spooky about October's Scent of the Month — beyond its ability to evoke a sense of joy and excitement as Halloween loomed. Notes of white pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla cream hinted at the festivities, from yummy candies and snacks to good-natured gatherings. Perhaps getting in your car and smelling White Pumpkin after a visit to the pumpkin patch helped you solidify a precious memory of hayrides and laughter.

November: Holiday Spice

November’s Scent of the Month incorporated all the elements of the space in time between Thanksgiving and Christmas, when family get-togethers happen more frequently and holiday cheer is in abundant supply. Toasted cinnamon, spiced orange, fir balsam, and clove wove a complex scent that resembled a warm embrace. As the spices rose and fell, they set the stage for the celebrations to come.

December: Frosted Spruce

Up goes the Christmas tree for Drift’s December Scent of the Month, which features frosted pines, balsam fir, juniper berries, and cedarwood. Spending time out in the woods making snow angels and finding the perfect tree to trim this year never smelled so good. Frosted Spruce effortlessly captures that breath of fresh mountain air tinged with the chill of winter — and the promise of joy and cheer.
